VANITIES is a coming of age play of three best friends in Southern 1960's-1970's.
Joanne is a naive, innocent girl who is set on marrying and having kids with her high school boyfriend. Kathy, peppy and over-organized, is the leader of the pack. And Mary is a free spirit, who thrives on pushing boundaries.
Act I shows them in the high school gymnasium practicing their cheerleading routines for the pep rally. Act II shows three sorority girls preparing for graduation and life to come. Act III shows them reuniting after several years, trying to find out how they grew so far apart from one another.
Between the laughs, tears and rock 'n roll music is a story about growing up, and what happens once you do.
Presented at The BlackRock Center for the Arts (http://www.blackrockcenter.org), the premier arts center in Germantown.
